A woman with blonde ringlets steps onto the wide lawn at The Venue at Broken Bridge Farms, where timber beams rise from stone bases and string lights glow against the evening sky. The barn-style pavilion opens toward rolling fields and a tall silo beyond, its metal roof reflecting the last blue of day.

A Night Framed by Open Fields and String Lights

Her dress might once have called to mind Dolly Parton, but in this generation the look beckons to the country glamour of Hannah Montana or early eras of Taylor Swift. She wears a sparkled silver dress beneath a blue jean jacket embroidered with thread and rhinestones. Knee-high socks edged with dainty flowers meet cowgirl boots as she steps forward. A friend lifts a phone and snaps a photo as she turns and poses. They hug and walk in together arm in arm while their husbands smile and shake hands beside them. The party has already begun before they reach the door.

Circle of Hope’s Denim & Diamonds Gala gathers guests at The Venue at Broken Bridge Farms on May 2, 2026, for an evening of music, dinner, and fundraising supporting survivors of domestic violence in Habersham County and Northeast Georgia. The annual event brings together local residents, sponsors, and advocates who sustain the shelter’s work providing emergency housing, crisis support, and pathways toward stable living conditions.

Guests arrive greeting neighbors in a venue which combines the best of country living and country club, the mint julep of locales.

Monica Spears, a local legend with more than 29 years of performances across Northeast Georgia, brings a voice shaped by jazz, soul, rock, and blues, long familiar to audiences at regional wineries, restaurants, festivals, and private gatherings. DJ Clay Christy, a staple at banquets and large events throughout the region, carries the night forward with steady fun and funky selections that keep guests out on the dance floor. Together, Spears and Christy provide the musical foundation for the Denim & Diamonds Gala, guiding the evening from arrival through the final dance.

Community Support for Families in Crisis

Throughout the evening, guests participate in live and silent auctions featuring items donated by local businesses and supporters. Raffle prizes offer additional opportunities to contribute. Each bid and ticket strengthens Circle of Hope’s ability to maintain confidential shelter services and crisis advocacy for individuals facing domestic violence.

Circle of Hope serves Habersham County and surrounding Northeast Georgia communities by providing emergency housing, advocacy, and assistance for individuals seeking safety. The organization connects clients to legal and community resources while supporting movement toward stable living situations. Fundraising events such as Denim & Diamonds allow local residents to sustain these services through direct participation.

Circle of Hope provides emergency shelter and advocacy for individuals in Habersham County and Northeast Georgia who face domestic violence. Staff assist clients in developing safety plans and connect them with local resources that help them secure housing, employment, and childcare. By maintaining services within the county, Circle of Hope reduces the distance between crisis and assistance, allowing individuals to seek help without leaving their community.

When Home Does Not Offer Safety

According to the GCADV website, Domestic violence affects a significant portion of Georgia families each year. More than 129,000 adults and more than 17,000 children were identified as victims of family violence in a recent statewide report. Certified domestic violence programs in Georgia respond to more than 110,000 crisis calls annually, reflecting sustained need for emergency services and advocacy. Research indicates that more than one-third of women in Georgia experience intimate partner violence, sexual violence, or stalking during their  lifetime.

Children often experience direct and indirect harm when domestic violence occurs in the home. Estimates suggest that between 3.3 million and 10 million children in the United States witness domestic violence each year. Exposure to violence in the home correlates with higher rates of anxiety, depression, behavioral challenges, and difficulty maintaining stable academic performance. Studies also indicate that children who witness violence face increased risk of entering abusive relationships later in life. Reports in Georgia show more than 100,000 child abuse and neglect reports annually, demonstrating the scope of family instability affecting young people.

Organizations such as Circle of Hope help interrupt cycles of violence. Community support through fundraising events sustains these services and helps ensure that assistance remains available within Habersham County.

An Evening That Extends Beyond the Event

The woman in silver crosses the pavilion floor as music shifts tempo. Her jacket catches the light. The rhinestones reflect the glow overhead. Around her, others interpret the evening’s theme in their own way: pressed shirts with denim collars, boots paired with evening dresses, jackets worn over polished attire. Each combination reflects the event’s guiding principle that participation remains open to many expressions.

The lights continue to glow above the pavilion as the final songs play. The lawn stretches into the dark beyond the reach of the bulbs. Guests carry conversations toward parked cars and gravel drives. The evening concludes, but the work supported by the gathering continues, sustained through the participation of those who choose to attend.
